The Vermont Public Protection Division Civil Rights Unit is the Vermont state equivalent of the federal EEOC. As a designated Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA), the Vermont Public Protection Division Civil Rights Unit may coordinate operations with the EEOC under a work-share agreement. Furthermore, the Vermont Public Protection Division Civil Rights Unit investigates state claims that are not covered by federal law or exceed the basic protections of federal law. Individuals complaining of employment discrimination in Utah should file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC and with the Vermont Public Protection Division Civil Rights Unit.
