The Charlotte District Office is open for charge receipts Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to Noon. You must arrive two hours before closing to assure same day service.

The South Carolina Human Affairs Commission is the South Carolina state equivalent of the federal EEOC. As a designated Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA), the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission may coordinate operations with the EEOC under a work-share agreement. Furthermore, the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission investigates state claims that are not covered by federal law or exceed the basic protections of federal law. Individuals filing a charge of discrimination with the EEOC should also file a copy of the charge with the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission.
