The Newark Area Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
Intake hours are Monday – Friday, from 8:30am to 3:00 pm.
The Newark Area EEOC Office has jurisdiction over Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties. The is the same jurisdiction as the New York District EEOC Office.

The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights is the New Jersey state equivalent of the federal EEOC. As a designated Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA), the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights may coordinate operations with the EEOC under a work-share agreement. Furthermore, the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights investigates state claims that are not covered by federal law or exceed the basic protections of federal law.  Individuals filing a charge of discrimination with the EEOC should also file a copy of the charge with the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.
