The Greensboro Local Office is open for charge receipts Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 8:30 to noon.
You must arrive two hours before closing to assure same day service.The Greensboro Local EEOC Office has jurisdiction over the State of North Carolina counties of Alamance, Alleghany, Ashe, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wilkes and Yadkin.

The North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, Civil Rights Division is the North Carolina state equivalent of the federal EEOC. As a designated Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA), the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, Civil Rights Division may coordinate operations with the EEOC under a work-share agreement. Furthermore, the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, Civil Rights Division investigates state claims that are not covered by federal law or exceed the basic protections of federal law. Individuals complaining of employment discrimination in North Carolina should file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC and with the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, Civil Rights Division.

The New Hanover County Human Relations Commission is the New Hanover County equivalent of the federal EEOC. Just like the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, Civil Rights Division, the New Hanover County Human Relations Commission is a designated Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA). The New Hanover County Human Relations Commission investigates federal claims, state claims, and claims arising under county ordiances, including those that are unique to the New Hanover
County. Individuals complaining of employment discrimination in New Hanover County should file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC, the North Carolina Office of Administrative Hearings, Civil Rights Division, and the New Hanover County Human Relations Commission.
