    The Tennessee Human Rights Commission is the Tennessee state equivalent of the federal EEOC. As a designated Fair Employment Practices Agency (FEPA), the Tennessee Human Rights Commission may coordinate operations with the EEOC under a work-share agreement. Furthermore, the Tennessee Human Rights Commission investigates state claims that are not covered by federal law or exceed the basic protections of federal law. Individuals complaining of employment discrimination in Tennessee should file a charge of discrimination with the EEOC and with the Tennessee Human Rights Commission.
